Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani) of Hyderabad is in the process of setting up an aluminium alloy plant in Nellore district. The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (APIIC) is said to have identified about 110 acre land near Bodduvaripalem, in Kodavalur mandal, 21 km from Nellore City. The plant will serve the aluminium alloy needs of defense and aerospace industry.

This will be the first defense manufacturing facility outside Hyderabad and the organisation is planning to invest between Rs 2,500-Rs.3,000 crore on the facility. The Midhani plant will be a joint venture with the public sector Navaratna company National Aluminium Company (Nalco).

The aluminium alloy plant will provide direct employment to 500 and indirect employment to several thousands.
