Global wind turbine major Gamesa is setting up a greenfield windmill blade manufacturing facility in IFFCO Kisan SEZ near Nellore ofAndhra Pradesh. Phase-I of the project involves an investment of Rs300 crore to manufacture blades for its G114-2.0 MW wind turbine model. The blade plant is expected to be commissioned in August.
This facility will be able to manufacture blades to support 300 MW per annum initially. It is expected to employ over 1,000 people. Gamesa already has facilities in Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. It has a market share of about 29 per cent in India.
