Long pending project in Nellore district, which was demanded by the industry and trade bodies for better connectivity to bigger city is finally in to action. The demand has increased due to the presence of the Krishnapatnam port.
Land acquisition process for the greenfield airport at Damavaram Village of Dagadarthi mandam will be completed by the end of March.
Dagadarthi, which is nearly 30 km from Nellore and close to Chennai Kolkota national highway has been selected for developing the airport. More than 1,390 acres of land have been sanctioned for the same.
Joint Collector Md.Imtiaz said that they have convened a meeting of officials of the concerned departments. There will also be a meeting next month with land owners and local farmers.
