1,390 acres sanctioned for greenfield airport at Dagadarthi mandal, Nellore

Long pending project in Nellore district, which was demanded by the industry and trade bodies for better connectivity to bigger city is finally in to action. The demand has increased due to the presence of the Krishnapatnam port. Land acquisition process for the greenfield airport at Damavaram Village of Dagadarthi mandam will be completed by the end of March. Dagadarthi, which is nearly 30 km from Nellore and close to Chennai Kolkota national highway has been selected for developing the airport. HUDCO sanctions loan for Underground drainage system at Nellore

State government has sanctioned underground drainage project at a cost of Rs. 508 crore to Nellore which would taken up with the financial assistance from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) and Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC) has to bear Rs 60 crore for the project. Foundation stone laid for Composite Regional Center at Nellore

Union government sanctioned no-frills airport in Nellore

According to Aviation secretary, the Union government granted has given its go-ahead for the development of green field airport in Nellore under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. The RFPs for bids to construction could be issued in few weeks. A green field airport is a new airport which is constructed on an undeveloped site. The union government has also granted site clearance for the construction of airport at Bhogapuram near Visakhapatnam. New LNG terminal to come up at Krishnapatnam Port

LNG Bharat Private Limited is setting up a floating LNG terminal at Krishnapatnam port Nellore. The terminal will be set up with a capacity of 5 million tonnes per year. The execution of the project is underway and is expected to be commissioned by end of 2017. Nellore is going to host the 37th National Games, the symbol of domestic supremacy in the country.
