Lohiya group, the name behind flagship edible oil brands Gold Drop and Gold Plus, is setting up a Rs500 crore edible oil plant in Nellore of Andhra Pradesh. The Rs. 2,200-crore Lohiya Group, commands over 55 per cent share in the branded edible oil market in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Lohiya now operates two refineries at Kakinada and Mankhal with a total capacity of 1,335 tonnes per day.
Group Managing Director Mr Mahaveer Lohiya hopes to start the first phase operations in about 10 months time. The first phase of the plant involves an investment of Rs 100-crore to create 500 tonnes of capacity. Total investment in all the phases will be to the tune of Rs. 500 crore spread over two to three years.
