After the state government granted permission to open a medical college in the premises of Dodla Subba Reddy government hospital in Nellore last year, the related works have been progressing at a brisk pace. The medical college and students hostel buildings are coming up fast after the government has sanctioned Rs 352 crores in the current budget. All the buildings are likely to be ready by June next year.

Almost 53 teaching staff have already been transferred from different medical colleges across the state as professors and assistant professors.
