SHAR officials accorded formal permission to conduct Buckingham Canal survey works in the Sriharikota range. The canal spreads across 11 mandals over an area of 6080 acres in Nellore district. About 385 acres need to be acquired for canal revival and creation of necessary facilities. Central government is on a mission to revive the 1000 KM long Buckingham canal from Kakinada to Chennai.
