Nittan Valve Co Ltd, the Japanese auto component maker, is setting up its first Indian manufacturing facility at the Sri City SEZ near Nellore in Andhra Pradesh. Nittan makes valves and other auto parts for Yamaha, Honda and other vehicle makers. It is investing Rs 100 crore to set up the facility in a seven acre plot in Sri City SEZ.
Nittan’s valve factory in India is expected to start commercial production by July 2014. Nittan established the Indian subsidiary Nittan India Tech Pvt. Ltd. in Mar 2013 to setup the valve manufacturing base in India.
Kusakabe India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Kusakabe Japan is setting up a metal tube/pipe mill at Sri City SEZ near Tada in Nellore district. The Rs25 crore plant is expected to employ about 40 people. The 1/2″ to 20″ pipes made of steel, stainless steel, aluminium and copper find uses in automotive, oil pipelines, buildings, furniture, etc.

NHK Springs India Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of NHK Japan, is investing Rs 300 crore to setup a unit to manufacture coil springs and stabilizer bars for automotive industry. These auto components are used in passenger cars and utility vehicles.
NHK plant coming up in a 18 acre plot at Sri City SEZ near Tada in Nellore district is expected to generate employment for 400 people when fully operational. NHK india has another plant at Manesar in Haryana, which was started in 1996. NHK Japan is present in 11 countries with 26 companies.
In April 2011, Metal One (Mitsubishi Group) and Keiyo Blanking Kogyo Co., Ltd. came together to establish India Metal One Steel Plate Processing Private Ltd (IMOP), the first site in India for the melt cutting and processing of steel plates. The joint venture factory is located in the suburbs of Tada in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, in the Sri City special economic zone (SEZ).
The new venture will supply products such as melt-cut parts, secondary-processing items, and composite parts, primarily for Caterpillar Inc. and other construction machinery manufacturers. Its initial monthly processing capacity is expected to reach 2,000 tonnes.

Kobelco Cranes India Pvt. Ltd (KCI), a part of Kobelco Cranes Co., Ltd (KCL). Japan, commenced the commercial production of its hydraulic crawler crane manufacturing plant in India in February 2012. The facility located at Sri City SEZ near Tada in Nellore District (75 kms north to Chennai), produces 100 units comprising 100 -Ton, 150-Ton and 260-Ton class cranes.
Indian demand for crawler cranes was about 200 in 2009 and is expected to grow to 700 units in the next 5 years. The factory is adjacent to its new hydraulic excavator factory set up by Kobelco Construction Machinery India.
