New LNG terminal to come up at Krishnapatnam Port

LNG Bharat Private Limited is setting up a floating LNG terminal at Krishnapatnam port Nellore. The terminal will be set up with a capacity of 5 million tonnes per year.

The execution of the project is underway and is expected to be commissioned by end of 2017. The 5 MMTPA terminal will be commissioned in 2 stages with the LNG being transported from the terminal in cryogenic trucks and RLNG being supplied in the upcoming Ennore-Nellore-Krishnapatnam port gas pipeline to the customers in south andhra pradesh north tamilnadu, Pondicherry, east karnataka and Telangana.

The project comprised an LNG floating storage, onshore buffer storage tank, regasification and cryo truck loading bays. The terminal will have an LNG berth of its own and also marine logistics support from the port.

Mr.G.Vengopal head of industry relations of the port said that, this was a welcome development with lots of opportunities for the port and also the industries in the projected regions. The total project cost would be INR Rs. 1400
