Towards a smarter Nellore

Nellore is the 4th largest city in the recently reorganized state of Andhra Pradesh after Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur and Tirupati. The city has a population of 600,000 people.

The cash strapped Nellore municipal corporation’s mayor Sk. Abdul Aziz is looking at leveraging the recently announced Smart Ward scheme of the state in seeking support from city’s industrialists and businessmen who have settled elsewhere. He proposes to rope them in for development of facilities through adoption of various wards in the city.

According to the District Collector Collector M. Janaki there are now 940 villages and 240 wards in Nellore district open for adoption under Smart Village, Smart Ward and Smart Andhra Pradesh program announced by CM Chandra Babu Naidu. Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar recently adopted Puttam Raju Kandriga near Gudur.

    as per your statement quoted above, please corrct the details.

    According to the National Census Survey 2011, population wise Nellore city is the 4th Largest city in reorganized Andhra pradesh after Vizag, Vijayawada and guntur, Tirupathi is very far when it comes to Population. and 6Lacs+ population is at the time of 2011 survey and its National rank is 89, now it has been increased year by year and crossed 7 lacs population.

    Area wise 2nd Largest city in the reorganized state after Vizag and it covers around 159 sq Kms where as Vijayawada and guntur are farway from nellore city, so called capital city Vijayawada is just 70+ sq. kms after merging all Adjaucent Villages.

    Im a Diehard Fan of Nellore City and want to explore more about Vikrama simhapuri.
