Krishnapatnam Port is keen to be part of developing tourism infrastructure at Nellore

District administration is very much interested to improve tourism infrastructure at Nellore at the same time it also creates employment for the local unemployed youth.  District collector N.Srikanth said the Krishnapatnam port, Rajarajeswarei Temple, Ranganadhaswamy Temple, Nellore cheruvu (Tank), and BaraShahid Dargah have strong potential in the Nellore tourism circuit. As part of this development project, KPCL offers to create more facilities in the natural creek, under a special programme called ‘Athidhya’.

KPCL will run bus services during weekends to transport tourists from Nellore town to the port. Facilities will be improved more, once the project is successful.  Theme park, Speed boating and water sports will also be introduced.

KPCL senior management Mr. Ghanta Vengopal said that boating facility would be developed within two months on the port premises without disturbing the commercial shipping operations.  He also suggested that beach should also be developed on the eastern side of the port for the tourists.

KPCL management also taking steps to avoid inconvenience to visiting ships, it proposed to allot separate space for developing facilities for tourists at the port.
