Vennelakanti Subba Rao from the then Nellore district wrote the first ever autobiography in English language. This 120 page autobiography was published by his son in 1873 as “The Life of Vennelacunty Soob Row – 1784-1839”. This was later translated into Telugu in 1876 by Akkiraju Ramapathi Rao.
