V. Dinesh Reddy hails from Tallapudi village, of SPSR Nellore District. He belongs to the 1977 batch of IPS officers from West Bengal cadre, but sought transfer to the Andhra Pradesh cadre. He had earlier served as the commissioner of Hyderabad and as the chairman of APSRTC. He also served as the director general of vigilance & enforcement and made his mark in the investigatins of the Emaar land scam and Arjitha ticket scandal at the Lord’s abode in Tirumala. Dinesh Reddy was appointed Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh,the top post in AP Police, on 30-jun-2011 and will continue till Sep-2013. nellorean.com wishes him all the best.
