Kandaleru Dam

Kandaleru Dam is the world’s biggest earth dam with 68 TMC of water storage spread over 11 square kilometres. This huge reservoir  is part of Telugu Ganga project meant for supplying Krishna river water to Chennai citizens in the south Indian state of Tamilnadu. It was constructed across the Kandaleru river. This river originates in Velugonda hills and it flows across Gudur.

Located about 60 kms away form Nellore, on the way to Rapur, this is a picturesque location with hillocks and forest area around the reservoir. There is a government guest house here meant for official purposes.
